Donna Bowater is a communications consultant specialising in global development with Marchmont Communications. She is based in London, UK.

She was previously a foreign correspondent based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 2012 to 2016. Here, she covered the 2013 protests, the Papal visit to Rio, the 2014 World Cup, 2016 Olympic Games, the outbreak of Zika virus and the re-election and impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff.

Her work has appeared in The Daily and Sunday Telegraph (London), The Observer, Washington Post, Al Jazeera, VICE and BBC among others. She began her career at the Northampton Chronicle and Echo.

She is experienced in news reporting as well as business and sports journalism, and speaks Brazilian Portuguese. She is a long-suffering Wolves fan.
